The brown bear
The owner of the forest is the largest terrestrial predator, the embodiment of the strength and power of the Russian forest. Despite its apparent clumsiness, it is a plastic and very dangerous beast.
An adult male in the middle band weighs 200-350 kg, body length: up to 2-2.5 m, height at the withers: up to 130-150 cm.
It can reach speeds of up to 50-60 km/h, swims well, and climbs trees deftly.
Has an excellent sense of smell, good hearing, but relatively weak eyesight. He is smart, cunning, and has an excellent memory. An involuntary movement or a smell in the wind can disrupt the hunt.
The most effective shots are in the shoulder blade area or in the neck/head (dangerous due to the powerful skull). Shooting at the body often leads to injury due to the thick layer of fat and muscle.
Finishing off a wounded animal is the most dangerous stage. This should only be done with well-trained dogs and extremely carefully, ready for an immediate shot.
